Originally from Argentina, Alexis Cabrera has spent six years doing conservatory studies. Experimenting from such a young age transformed his idea about how music can flourish in different environments. His style can be best described as minimal house with groovy beats, which grew to be quite popular among those who enjoy a well performed live set. Because he enjoys giving an amazing performance to the audience, he sings and adds vocals between rhythms. Cabrera’s songs were released on labels like Atipic Records, Moscow Music, UDig, Salty Nuts, Raum…Musik and many more. He is one of the DJs who like to engage his public from the beginning by using uplifting sounds that convert into tech-house when needed. Alexis is all about playing the music that will make you move on the dance floor.
His Boiler Room set showed the world that Buenos Aires has indeed a renowned roster of producers and alongside BAREM, Alexis Cabrera has founded FUN RECORDS. The label focuses on releasing freestyle jams with techno and house elements and has a mission of developing character and humility back into the global dance scene. As the label’s name suggests, the globally recognized and respected DJs started a sort of manifesto when it comes to enjoying good music, smiling when you play to your audience and what means to have fun in this industry nowadays.
Alexis will be the host of Pitch Control and because he is a master of live performances, he will guide you through what being a music producer means and will give you insights on how to turn your studio into a creativity temple. And because each temple has to have some serious gear, it’s time to talk a little bit about hardware and software and why finding the perfect balance between these two can actually help you.
